Tracking is good, power is acceptable and for $50 on sale you can't go wrong. Not a very refined piece of equipment but it has done everything I expected of it. If it ever breaks I'll replace it with the same model in an instant. I have the same router as Ryan's and it was my only router for over 4 years so it's been through a lot. And I thought I was the only one they had pissed off in the past.

5 years ago it was still china, but better quality china, now there tools are made from grade A peanut butter (maybe Lead considering the COO).Īhhhh! I feel better now. Speaking of quality, Ive noticed the quality of their handtools has slipped even in the last 5 years. And the bean counters remain in control of canadian tire. But alas that day will never return so long as us Canadians shop solely by price and not COO or quality.

I wish the day would return where you could buy Gray at Cdn Tire either as a Mastercraft Professional or Gray proper as a secondary line.

Plus they still have a large Canadian manufacturing operation (many of their items are Canadian made, with some Taiwan sourced ) unlike Snap-on who closed their Canadian operations. Gray is every bit the equal of Snap-on on many items, albeit unknown to most in the USA.

The truly sad thing is crappy tire wasn't always full of chicom junk ie: crap.Īt one time, you could buy Gray hand tools, either branded Gray or later on as Mastercraft. This is a retailer that if they were to flounder and go under, unlike other Canadian retailers from the past, I would not be saddened by but instead want to throw a party. Their system is designed to deceive and manipulate and to treat the consumer like an absolute moron and to take advantage of. Never assume that their policy will be the same from one visit to the next, from one store to the next, or from one department to the next, or from what head office will tell you to what a store will tell you. I don't have the time or patience to deal with such nonsense and game playing possibly everytime with any retailer, and that was what I had experienced everytime I was dealing with them years ago and is why I no longer deal with them except on the rarest of occasions, and when I do, it is CAREFULLY. In my experience and observations, a convicted felon has a higher likelihood of showing me better integrity and honesty than they do. I wouldn't buy a bucket of water from CT if I was on fire. Just another crappy retailer playing the "Let's make that stupid idiot consumer play some silly game to have us honour our implied committment of whatever we bragged about in our commercial or on the label, which most won't bother and we'll pocket more profits on" BS! So I figure that if something happens to them now, I'll be SOL. Who the hell would have thought they would require keeping your proof of purchase thirty years ago. Somebody the other day was saying to me that they now require to show proof of purchase to honour the lifetime warranty on my Mastercraft socket set. Thanks for bringing up Mastercrap and CT, I am due for a rant about them.
